This is a super easy craft for kids of all ages. It does get a bit messy but it's fun and turns out beautiful!
You can decoupage just about anything from cardboard boxes to plastic containers to glass. This is the container I chose to decoupage for my candle holder. It's a pear jar from Aldi.
Tissue paper works best for covering items. Tear a bunch of small pieces before you start gluing them on your object. The pieces should be about the size of a silver dollar.
I use Mod Podge. You can also use Elmer's glue with a 50/50 Elmer's glue and water mixture but I find the Mod Podge turns out better. They also have different types of Mod Podge like glitter and gloss.
Use a paintbrush to apply the Mod Podge to the surface of the jar in small areas.
Make sure to apply the tissue paper pieces as you go so that the glue doesn't dry.
Keep 'painting' glue and then applying tissue paper as you go.
The more layers of tissue paper you apply, the darker and more opaque the decoupage.
After the jar dries you can try it out with a candle!
