Cauliflower Crust Pizza

I made an awesome cauliflower crust pizza. The best recipe is here.  The key really is to squeeze all the water out. My first attempt didn't turn out so well. ;) Once you make the crust you can top it with just about anything you can put on a pizza.  My daughter had fun shaping her own crust and then adding toppings.  Pizza without the carbs!

Fun with Rice Krispie Treats

Here's a fun afternoon activity for the whole family!

Make up some rice krispies treats by combining 3 Tbs of butter and 4 cups of mini marshmallows together and warming in the microwave for about 1 minute or until butter is melted.  Stir in 6 cups of rice krispies (or 5 if you like them extra sticky).  We also stirred in some sprinkles to make them colorful and extra yummy. :)

Gather your supplies, icing, sprinkles, etc.

Place wax paper down before you start working with the treat mix.

Scoop out a spoonful about as big as your fist and shape it in to anything you choose.

Now comes the really fun part.  Using icing, sprinkles or any other baking supplies you get to decorate your treats.

Homemade Potpourri

This is a really simple recipe for potpourri that you keep simmering on the stove.

I had some cutie oranges that had dried out and I didn't want to throw them away.  I cut them in half and threw them in a saucepan with just enough water to cover them.

I found some whole cloves, allspice and cinnamon sticks in the back of the spice cabinet and threw those in with the oranges.  About a half teaspoon of the allspice and cloves and a single cinnamon stick.  I brought the whole concoction to a boil and then put the burner on low to simmer.  Now my whole kitchen smells like spiced oranges!
