Fun with Rice Krispie Treats

Here's a fun afternoon activity for the whole family!

Make up some rice krispies treats by combining 3 Tbs of butter and 4 cups of mini marshmallows together and warming in the microwave for about 1 minute or until butter is melted.  Stir in 6 cups of rice krispies (or 5 if you like them extra sticky).  We also stirred in some sprinkles to make them colorful and extra yummy. :)

Gather your supplies, icing, sprinkles, etc.

Place wax paper down before you start working with the treat mix.

Scoop out a spoonful about as big as your fist and shape it in to anything you choose.

Now comes the really fun part.  Using icing, sprinkles or any other baking supplies you get to decorate your treats.

Gluten Free at Aldi

I was diagnosed with celiac disease almost two years ago.  Since then, I have had to change my eating habits drastically.  It is mind-boggling how many foods have wheat/gluten in them.  Some of the biggest shockers have been soy sauce and imitation crab meat which includes most cheap sushi; most soups, stews and chilies because they use flour as a thickener and pretty much the entire Taco Bell menu.

Aldi - liveGfree pretzels, sweet chili crisps, cheddar biscuits, pizza crust, stuffing, pancake mix and cornbread.

This brings me to the greatest find so far. I have discovered that Aldi has the best variety and tastiest gluten-free products at the lowest prices.  Their brand is called "liveGfree".  Here's a rundown on what they have available and a review if I have tried the item.  (Not all items are available at all Aldi's all the time.)
